I was just thinking about how I've had more activity here over the past week, than the total combined activity since I signed up 8 months ago. Then I saw the number of views on this post and my jaw dropped. It must be a mistake?
My guess is they must be multiplying the number of comments x favorites x actual views + the number of months I've been using posterous. It works out to 131 views, which still seems high, but more plausible. I'm kidding of course, but the only explanation I can think of is if someone included it in their blog post which received some attention. I checked Google and nothing came up using the title of the picture. If this was data to be included in a statistical model of my post views, it would be thrown out because it’s more than two standard deviations from the mean. It’s definitely unusual activity.
I have 28 subscribers right now. I get an average of 60 views per post. I wonder if they're counting the post when a) it is emailed as a subscription to all subscribers, and b) When the subscriber clicks on it to open and favourite it. Too optimistic, though. It would mean each subscriber has clicked twice on every post I made ??
